Asheville Creative Arts has a physical home at The Farm in Black Mountain, where we have space for humans to create, retreat and heal, as well as space for animals to roam.
Recent resident artists include Jeghetto and Nephrii Amenii, who participated in an advance puppet building workshop for HUMAN; and led by Blakeney Bullock, artists from New Orleans – Caitlyn Swett and Kat Sotelo- and Western North Carolina – Victoria Bradbury, Edwin Salas, Samaya Young Stewart, and Carolina Corona – united near the one-year anniversary of Helene and the 20 year anniversary of Katrina, to explore artistic practice in the wake of natural disasters.
Programs at The Farm:
- a retreat center for community based organizations who can engage the services of partner Partake Arts for thoughtful, human centered strategic planning, team building and coaching;
- Sarah Malinak Summer Camp – an international artist residency specifically focused on creating theatre, dance, performance for young audiences, puppetry, and more;
- classes and workshops for artists and young people interested in making art in sustainable ways among community members (coming soon).
