Founded in 1993, Serpent Child is a 501(c)3 professional arts company dedicated to the collaborative creation of multidisciplinary cross-cultural productions. We use among other things: music, film, movement, puppets, masks, and non-naturalistic theater techniques. Serpent Child Ensemble’s purpose is to create art in a variety of media based on the experiences, history, and myths of specific communities.
The company’s mission is to:
Facilitate people to use the power of art to tell their stories.
Interpret stories, myths, and history.
Produce original and documentary art pieces based on personal and social themes.
Create community-based performances with a wide range of population groups.
Teach community arts, including theater, writing, visual art, videography, problem solving, and communication skills.
