Singing From The Heart

Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30

For 6th-8th graders

Feb 5-March 26  (8 weeks) at Hanger Hall (64 West.T. Weaver Blvd)

Cost: $120

Get in touch with your true, authentic voice in this eight-week workshop with Asheville musician Laura Blackley. Whether you sing only in the shower or would like to take your talents to the big stage, this class has something for you. Learn strategies for projecting your voice, breathing, staying on pitch, improving confidence, singing with a group, and harmonizing.

Act It Out!

Wednesdays from 3:30 – 4:30

For 4th-6th graders

Feb 20 – April 10 (8 weeks) at Hanger Hall (64 West.T. Weaver Blvd)

Cost $120

Through improv and movement games, students will explore story structure focusing on how the beginning, middle, and end work together to introduce characters that develop through crisis and lead to resolution. We will discover how protagonists interact with an antagonist to change through a story. Students will learn to develop and then act out a story as a group.

Who Am I? Finding Your Voice Through Digital Storytelling

Mondays from 3 - 5pm

For 6th-8th graders

March 4 – April 29 (8 weeks) at Hanger Hall (64 West.T. Weaver Blvd)

Cost $150

Create digital stories—short, first-person narrative movies that combine images, voice, and music to tell a compelling art-o-biographical short film. Filmed and edited on a cell phone.
